Overview:Social Problems: Continuity and Change(2016) discusses in the United States, the institution of the family has been changing fast enough that most of us can describe changes that have taken place over the course of a single lifetime (or even the recent decade). Whether these changes are defined as a problem or solution is, of course, related to ones position on the political spectrum.
Social problems also can affect family life and intimate relationships in various ways. For example, domestic violence, intimate partner violence (IPV), stalking, child abuse, infidelity, and divorce.
